What is a source code?

The source code is a kind of instruction that tells your browser how your website should be displayed and what content it has.

The homepage builder allows you to create a homepage within minutes and with a few mouse clicks. What you insert and see in your page editor is transformed by us into instructions for your internet browser.

If you want to take a look at the source code, visit your website and press the key combination Ctrl+U.

At first glance, you will see a lot of characters and letters next to the content you have written, which can be a bit confusing at first. However, without all these instructions, your web page would not look the way it does now.

These "confusing characters" are also called "HTML tags" in technical language. They are supplemented by javascripts and CSS instructions.

What do I need codes and scripts for?

The homepage construction kit takes over a large part of the homepage design for you, so that you only have to work with these scripts for more advanced functions or for your own design.

How can I insert a script or code into my homepage?

To include a script in your web page, you must first click on the "Source Code" button at the top left. Then the view of the page editor changes. You will now be taken to the HTML view. Depending on where you place your script, it will appear later on your page.

Note: In the normal view of the page editor, a Youtube video or iFrame is not displayed for security reasons.
